摘要：This paper departs from the classical expenditure-based approach by allowing for the possibility that underreporting occurs across all households and all types of income, and relaxing the restrictive assumption that households underreport their income by a constant fraction. It proposes an optimal household decision-making framework and based on which, generates an optimal underreporting response function. The underreporting function of income, when level and composition effects are both considered, is then nested into a quadratic Engle curve to estimate the extent of income underreporting in urban China.

报告人简介：张琼，女，经济学博士，2001-2005年就读于北京大学经济学院，2005-2011年就读于清华大学经济管理学院，师从白重恩。目前在China economic review等国际期刊以及国内学术期刊发表论文30余篇。目前研究方向是：人口经济学、健康经济学以及公共财政经济学。
