This first half of this presentation will be a brief introduction to business law in the United States. It will focus on three key areas of the law for Chinese companies that wish to sell their products in the United States or form companies and conduct business within the United States. 

• First, this presentation will summarize commercial law in the United States. This will include the Uniform Commercial Code and contract law. 
• Second, the presentation will examine the different forms under which a Chinese company can do business in the United States. 
• Finally, the presentation will discuss the procedure for resolving commercial disputes in the United States.

The second half of this presentation will examine the practical issues involved in representing a company in a joint venture with an American company or the acquisition of an existing American company.
